Multi-Generational Day Event

An annual event showcasing and celebrating diverse cultures and heritage, featuring a variety of cultural performances and activities.

This festival features a variety of cultural events such as traditional music, dance performances, food, and art exhibits. It also includes speeches by community leaders, and seminars on Eritrean history and culture. The festival is an opportunity for the Eritrean community in Portland to come together, socialize, and strengthen their cultural identity. It is also a chance for non-Eritreans to learn about Eritrean culture and traditions. A lively and colorful celebration that promotes multiculturalism and diversity in our area.

Martyr’s Day

The annual Martyr’s Day event is held to commemorates the courageous Eritrean war heroes who have passed away.

This meaningful occasion features talks from community leaders, cultural performances, and a candlelight vigil to honor their memory. It’s a time of reflection and remembrance, reinforcing our community’s unity and preserving the legacy of those who fought for our freedom.

Eritrean Independence Day

An annual celebration held on May 24, this event marks the liberation of our nation in 1991.

This day is a time for reflection, pride, and unity, as Eritreans across the globe come together to honor the sacrifices made during the struggle for freedom. Our Independence Day celebration brings the community together with vibrant cultural performances, traditional dances, music, and speeches that highlight Eritrea’s history and its resilient spirit. It is an occasion for all generations to celebrate their shared heritage and foster a sense of national pride, while also looking forward to a future of peace and prosperity for Eritrea.

Women’s International Day

This day, honors the women who fought and continue to shape nation future celebrating their courage, leadership and ongoing empowerment.

The Eritrean Association of Oregon offers its community center for multicultural use. Our space features an open area suitable for meetings, small gatherings, and other events, accommodating up to 80 people. The lower level includes a kitchen and two restrooms.
